Our goal with the airway bag is to be instantly ready to intubate. A secondary benefit is that we will stop unnecessarily cracking, setting-up, and then discarding equipment from the airway boxes. The bag is identical to the one used by the Sydney HEMS EMS physicians.
The airway bag is hung on a hook next to the medication tube system adjacent to the RACC doctor’s area.
The bag should be checked by the senior resident when they come on shift, immediately after they get sign-out. After each intubation, it is the responsibility of the senior resident to ensure that the bag is restocked and put back on the hook.
The video and picture below demonstrate the items that should be stocked in the airway bag.
This bag is the D953 Aeromedical RSI Kit which was custom created for Sydney Hems by the Byron Group. Contact info:

If i had to do the bag over, I would ask that the handles be sewn circumferentially around the bag rather than a single attachment at the points of the handle, i.e. I want to hag the bag from a MUCH beefier point.
